Tan Lan Bakery Ltd. was set up by Master Baker Dean Geldart in 2003.
Having always had a passion and interest in baking and cookery, Dean attended Llandrillo College in 1987 where he completed his two years of training. Dean excelled at College and it was clear from early on he had a talent for baking and patisserie.
Wining 1st prize for a Rank Hovis competition the age of 17, Dean was inspired to turn his love and talent of baking into a fantastic career.
Moving down to London to work in the Café Royal and the famous Ritz hotel at just eighteen years of age gave him the confidence and determination to succeed.
Moving back to North Wales in 1989 Dean took a position of a full time baker in a small but well known bakery in Betws y Coed. Working nights 6 days a week, Dean’s love of his chosen industry never wavered. It is working in the Bakery in Betws y Coed that he perfected his skills and decided to set up his own business.
Starting Tan Lan Bakery with just fourteen wholesale customers, Dean worked 7 days a week and quickly doubled his clientele.
Tan Lan Bakery soon found its way to the coast.
Moving into a larger Industrial unit in Llanrwst in 2004, Tan Lan Bakery Ltd continued to become an overnight success. Securing contracts in some of the area’s finest restaurants, cafes and outdoor pursuit centres Tan Lan Bakery’s reputation grew.
Dean could now employ bakery staff and delivery drivers to help the company grow into the successful business seen today.
